Once, I was walking in my ashram and I saw a seven year old girl. She was going to eat food at the place where food was served. There were four-ve more people with her, maybe they were her family and she was holding the hand of her mother. I was behind them and nobody was aware that I was there. I was just watching them going. Suddenly, I saw that the girl left the hand of her mother. The parents were busy talking. A banana peel was lying there on the road, and this girl just took the banana peel and threw it in the waste box. The parents were not aware because they were busy in talking to each other. And even the girl did not show this to anyone. She just stopped, left her mother’s hand took the banana peel, threw that in a waste box and she held her mother’s hand again and went to eat food. Next day, when they came to meet me, I asked them, “Do you know what your daughter did yesterday?” I told them that ‘yesterday, she put a banana peel in the waste box. She wanted to clean the way. She had an intention to keep the ashram neat and clean. The parents answered, “Oh! We don’t know what she did.” She didn’t even tell them. You see this feeling! There is a feeling and with this feeling, there is a seeing.
And I tell you, if you are watching or observing minutely or even if you are just seeing, then the seeing or watching is very effective because if you are seeing, then seeing is an action. There can be no difference, if you see or watch, seeing completely is action. And I tell you-To see everything as it is, is quite an art. But we have missed that art. There is a screen, there are some colored glasses of society, of culture, of this and that in front of our eyes. If you start to see everything as it is, you will live for the first time.
