Featured Story Of Fear

Many sorts of fear are created or made by man and they are different just like the leaves on a tree. So, are we going to deal leaf by leaf? It would be a very long story. I remember that in my childhood days, I was very interested in hearing stories. Every night I wanted someone to tell me a story. And my parents provided it. When I was young, First they used to tell me then afterwards some people were there. Every night before going to bed, a story was necessary. And how long can you continue with the stories? And my memory was very sharp, if once a story was told, I knew the story. I would say, this I know, tell me something else, this is boring, I know the end. How can you go on repeating? One night a man came and said, “I will tell you a very good story.” I insisted, “It should be long. Short stories are not welcomed because I need to sleep.” He said, “It will be very long.”

He sat just next to my bed and started telling the story, “There was a huge tree of Peepal. It was a very beautiful tree. Winds were passing through it and it was making noise. Many Pigeons were living on that peepal tree. Do you know how many?” he asked me. I said, “You keep on saying. Just tell me the story. I will just do ‘Hmm…Hmmm.    ‘ I don’t know. How can I know? You are telling the story. Tell me how many.” He said, “There were as many pigeons as there were leaves on the tree. It was full of pigeons and suddenly one pigeon took one leaf and furrr,” I heard. Then he again said, “The second pigeon took the leaf and flew furrr, third pigeon took the leaf and furrr” he continued for fifteen- twenty pigeons, and I said, “Okay! Okay. Now I know. Just go. Go on.” He said, “I am telling you the very fact, what happened there, one after the other.” I asked, “Okay. What happened then?”

He continued till hundred more. I had to face him. Then I again asked, “Oh! Please tell me now what happened after this.” He told that first the leaves must be finished and when the leaves shall be finished, then new and more leaves will grow there. Because one after another the pigeons are taking leaves and while the last leaf is plucked, a new leaf is growing. It was a never- ending story. Same are your fears.

If you take your fears one by one then it is a never ending story. You can go on taking, the new leaves may grow on and you may go on thinking. So, isn’t it better that we go in the root, take out the root, understand the root of the fear, and the nature of the fear; not one by one. So, when we are understanding here about fear, don’t operate your mind on a particular fear you may have. Try to be together. Try to understand, to go deep into the root or the very basic nature of the fear. It is a very complex thing and you have to understand it with very deep attention.

Spirituality

World is a small place for you to adjust in certain situations like social, political, economical, educational, emotional etc. If you do well, you become winner, people clap for you and thats all.
Is this the only thing you are born for? Like a contestant of Big Brother or Big Boss or whatsoever; every country has its own Big Brother or Big Boss who is watching you all the time, is almighty nothing more than that for you?
Spirituality was something to transcendent such nonsense games but today we have made it also a adventurous part of life and we see it like problem of life such as social, political etc.
hope you are understanding what I mean to say … thank you

Awareness And Feelings

Once, I was walking in my ashram and I saw a seven year old girl. She was going to eat food at the place where food was served. There were four-ve more people with her, maybe they were her family and she was holding the hand of her mother. I was behind them and nobody was aware that I was there. I was just watching them going. Suddenly, I saw that the girl left the hand of her mother. The parents were busy talking. A banana peel was lying there on the road, and this girl just took the banana peel and threw it in the waste box. The parents were not aware because they were busy in talking to each other. And even the girl did not show this to anyone. She just stopped, left her mother’s hand took the banana peel, threw that in a waste box and she held her mother’s hand again and went to eat food. Next day, when they came to meet me, I asked them, “Do you know what your daughter did yesterday?” I told them that ‘yesterday, she put a banana peel in the waste box. She wanted to clean the way. She had an intention to keep the ashram neat and clean. The parents answered, “Oh! We don’t know what she did.” She didn’t even tell them. You see this feeling! There is a feeling and with this feeling, there is a seeing.

And I tell you, if you are watching or observing minutely or even if you are just seeing, then the seeing or watching is very effective because if you are seeing, then seeing is an action. There can be no difference, if you see or watch, seeing completely is action. And I tell you-To see everything as it is, is quite an art. But we have missed that art. There is a screen, there are some colored glasses of society, of culture, of this and that in front of our eyes. If you start to see everything as it is, you will live for the first time.

Be Present And Peaceful

In India, a man came to me and said, “I want to meditate, I feel very depressed, I feel life is Finished for me, I want to die, I want to commit suicide. But before dying, before I finish, I want to give a chance to myself, I want to meditate. I want to give a chance to you! Do something, I’m anyway going to be        finished, now you do something. If you do well, I will be alive. If you don’t do well, I will be dead.” I knew that the person was not going to die. If you really want to die, you will die, you will not come to me and give me a chance. If he can give me a chance, then he can give another chance to somebody else also.

I said, “I do not know anything about you but whatever you are doing, whatever you are thinking, you are always thinking of past, forget about that. Now you are here, you want to die, look in the torch, look in my light and be dead. And when I blow you, you are awake and from there on, you start your new life. Good?” He agreed. It felt very good to him, truly. I told him, “You can also have a name from me. I can give you a new name because that would mean something more to you.” He was very excited and happy “Yes! Yes, a new name!” I said, “You can take a name, Amar (means immortal).” He felt very happy and blessed. Then he came just the next day, not long, and he told, “I am very anxious, I feel so wonderful, the Flowers in ashram are so beautiful, the man who is watering is doing it with grace, I love this all. The sun is shining so bright. It makes me feel very happy, I’m very much in love with the life, and I cannot leave this life. It is so beautiful, I am very anxious.”

I told him “Yesterday, when you came you were depressed. I told it will go away, you will be ne. Today you have come and you are very anxious, and I tell you the same, it will go away.” It is very simple. If you are depressed, you are in past. If you are anxious, you are in future but when you are in present, you are just peaceful.” I told him to go and broom the ashram, and to do it for not just one day but every day. And I want to tell you that for last six years, he has been brooming. He gets up at 3’o clock and from three to 6’o clock, before everybody gets up, he is just brooming and brooming, cleaning every path and he is very happy. He knows ‘the present’ now.

Future Has Possibilities

Once, Mullah Nasir-ud-din was fed up of all the happenings and conditions around him. He thought, “Everything is nonsense, everything is senseless. I have seen enough of this.” He wanted to commit suicide. While he was preparing to kill himself, there passed a man and he saw this that mullah is preparing to commit suicide. He said to mullah, “Come down from the tree and show me your hands, I am a fortune teller.” He was an astrologer, a fortune teller. Mullah said, “Oh! What does it matter to me now? I am going to die anyway. Now there is no life. Now it does not matter. There is no future.” The man said, “Come down, I would like to see if you will succeed or not.”

Love Emotion And Passion

There was a small girl aged around sixteen. She was carrying her six year old brother on her back and was climbing a mountain. Just behind her, there was a sadhu (saint), who was also climbing the mountain with a very small bag on his shoulder. It was a heavy ascend, a fatal precipice, deep slope and this sixteen year old girl was climbing with her six years old brother on her back. The saint struggled and somehow reached that girl and asked her, “I have a very small bag of around two kg on my shoulder and I feel it is very heavy. Don’t you feel the weight? Don’t you feel your brother heavy?” The girl looked at the saint and said resentfully, “He is not weight, he is my brother after all. He is not weight! He is my brother! And while carrying my brother, how can I feel a weight?” There is a strong feeling and a strong connection between brother and sister, there is not a single thought of weight.
